Newcastle United have been linked to Manchester City defender.

Eliaquim Mangala could be in line for a move to Newcastle United, according to The Telegraph.
Mangala has little chance of regular game time at City, who are set to buy Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte.
The former Porto defender is one of City’s biggest flops in recent seasons considering the £40 million they spent to buy him.
Mangala is being lined up for a loan move to Newcastle, although considering the club’s struggles to get deals done this January.

The centre-back was linked to Newcastle in the summer, but was kept at City where he has had a limited role.
He filled in during John Stones’ spell injured on the sidelines, and has made four starts, but he has not featured since the England defender returned, and Laporte’s imminent signing signals his need to move on.
Mangala is in need of a fresh start, but he is not necessarily what Newcastle need right now.
Fans are desperate to see a striker signed after suffering recent setbacks, and a loan for a defender with a shaky reputation in the Premier League is not going to quell supporters’ frustrations.
