Newcastle United picked up a crucial win in the Championship this afternoon, getting the better of Derby County to go back to the top of the league.
A goal from Matt Ritchie in the 27th minute proved enough for the Magpies to take an important three points.
Derby however gave a very good account of themselves. They pushed Newcastle all the way and there had to be a top performance from the Newcastle defence in order to win the game.
One player in particular who stood out was right-back DeAndre Yedlin.

The former Tottenham Hotspur player has had to work hard to make his way into the Newcastle team on a regular basis.
But he has been gradually improving his performances and Newcastle fans are certainly pleased to see so.
Yedlin was brilliant in possession and in defence. He made a brilliant goal-line clearance as well, which helped Newcastle stay in front in a tight fixture.

Yedlin’s performances will help fuel the fans belief that they are going to immediately return to the Premier League.
