Newcastle United fans react on Twitter to Davide Santon return rumours

Newcastle United defender Davide Santon spent four years at St. James’ Park during his previous spell.

Newcastle United fans have had a mixed reaction to the news that Davide Santon could return to St. James’ Park.

According to Tutto Mercato Web, Santon is willing to leave Inter Milan in the summer transfer window.

And the full-back is reportedly said to be on Rafael Benitez’s wishlist.

Newcastle are looking to improve their squad, following promotion back to the Premier League.

And Magpies fans do not seem to be unanimously enthused about a potential for Santon’s return.

Santon represented Newcastle for four years between 2011 and 2015, before leaving to join Inter.

The Italian made 94 appearances for the Tynesiders in total, with his performances earning differing reviews.

If Santon was to move back to Newcastle, he would be in competition with the likes of Paul Dummett and DeAndre Yedlin for a first-team place.
