Atsu, who joined Newcastle on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea in the summer of 2016, featured in the Championship match against Huddersfield away from home at the John Smith’s Stadium.
The 25-year-old Ghana international midfielder started the game and played for 81 minutes, as the Magpies registered a 3-1 victory.
