Chancel Mbemba faces a spell out for Newcastle.

Newcastle United have been dealt a blow after Chancel Mbemba suffered an injury on international duty.
Mbemba scored for DR Congo in their World Cup qualifier before going off with an injury after 60 minutes.

Mbemba played a key role in Newcastle keeping a clean sheet against West Ham and his injury is bad timing for Rafa Benitez.
The 23-year-old centre-back is also capable of filling in at left-back, a problem position for Newcastle at present and he had featured in all three of Newcastle’s games so far this season.

Mbemba’s injury will mean a defensive reshuffle, but likely also prompt a recall for summer signing Florian Lejeune, who had got injured in the opening Premier League game against Tottenham but has now recovered.
Newcastle travel to Swansea City this weekend, who have recorded four points so far compared to Newcastle’s three.
It certainly appears at this stage as though Mbemba will be unavailable, and it is just a question as to how long he will miss.
Here is a look at how Newcastle fans reacted to the reports…
