Newcastle United have been dealt a blow after Chancel Mbemba suffered an injury on international duty.

Mbemba scored for DR Congo in their World Cup qualifier before going off with an injury after 60 minutes.

The Chronicle report there is no definitive timeline on his injury as Newcastle are still waiting to assess him, but reports in his country state he is set to miss their next international match on October 7.
