Newcastle United were linked with a summer move for West Ham United striker Andy Carroll, who played against Huddersfield Town in the Premier League on Monday.

Newcastle United fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Andy Carroll for West Ham United against Huddersfield Town on Monday evening.
Carroll featured in West Ham’s 2-0 victory over Huddersfield at the London Stadium on Monday evening.
The former Newcastle and Liverpool striker started the Premier League game and played for 82 minutes.
It was the first time that the England international striker was starting for the Hammers in a league fixture since April 4, as reported by Football.London.

Although the 28-year-old failed to score against Huddersfield, the striker’s performance for Slaven Bilic’s side was quite encouraging.
Carroll started his professional club football career at Newcastle and was linked with a move back to the Magpies in the summer transfer window.
A report in The Mirror in August claimed that Rafael Benitez’s side were interested in signing the striker on a season-long loan deal in the summer transfer window.
