It seems as though Aleksandar Mitrović’s comments on Mike Ashley haven’t gone down well with the Newcastle United faithful.

Newcastle United supporters on Twitter have hit out at their former striker Aleksandar Mitrović after he defended controversial owner Mike Ashley.
The Fulham man stated that Ashley is a ‘good guy’ with some Newcastle fans stating that Mitrovic might be after a move back to the club hence why he was so praising of the Englishman, as quoted by TalkSport.
During the summer of 2018, Mitrović made a permanent £22 million switch from Newcastle to Fulham, who at the time had just been promoted to England’s top-flight [BBC Sport].
Since then Fulham have been relegated back to the Championship, and Newcastle supporters weren’t too pleased, neither surprised, by what Mitrović had to say about his former employer.
During his time at St James’ Park, Mitrović struggled to prove his worth, but he found his grove when he moved down to the second tier with Fulham.

Given the problems at Newcastle this summer, they will be hoping that they don’t drop down to the Championship again, with Ashley receiving a lot of stick for the decisions he has made this summer.
Considering what could happen to the Magpies at the end of the season, it isn’t a surprise that the Toon Army faithful don’t take too well to some quarters of the media defending Ashley now and again.
