Newcastle United ran out 4-1 winners against Preston North End yesterday.
Aleksandar Mitrovic’s performance for Newcastle United against Preston North End appears to have divided supporters’ opinions at St. James’ Park.
Mitrovic was handed a rare start for Newcastle last night, as Rafael Benitez’s side secured promotion.
The Serbian international did not manage to get on the scoresheet, but he did help Newcastle pick up a 4-1 victory over Preston.
And Magpies fans appear to be totally divided over the level of Mitrovic’s display last night.
While some Newcastle supporters praised Mitrovic, others thought that the former Anderlecht man was miles off the pace.
Newcastle’s victory over Preston was achieved in comfortable circumstances in the end, although they were given a scare in the first half.
The Magpies opened the scoring through Ayoze Perez, but Jordan Hugill hit an equaliser for Preston.
It was then an even contest, until Newcastle winger Christian Atsu hit the back of the net and Benitez’s side started to take a grip on the match.
The Magpies struck further goals through Matt Ritchie and Atsu to seal the three points and promotion back to the Premier League.
