Boro were beaten 1-0 by Aston Villa at the Riverside Stadium yesterday, but that did not stop Traore impressing.
The rapid wide-man was Boro’s most threatening attacking outlet throughout the contest.
And Newcastle fans certainly saw enough to suggest that Traore could make a good addition to Benitez’s squad.
Traore has enjoyed an excellent season at Championship level, and looks ready to make the step up to the top flight.
If Traore was to arrive at Newcastle, his direct running and pace could make Benitez’s squad more threatening going forward next term.
The Magpies have stayed up comfortably this season, but there is a realisation around St. James’ Park that more quality will need to be added this summer.
