Newcastle United fans are reacting after two of their side’s players, Rolando Aarons and Achraf Lazaar, left to join Sheffield Wednesday on loan.

The pair will spend the rest of the season at Hillsborough after failing to break into Rafa Benitez’s plans on Tyneside.

Some Wednesday supporters have already expressed excitement at the new arrivals, but what do those of a Newcastle persuasion make of Aarons and Lazaar?

This is what they’re saying on Twitter…

Aarons, a winger, adds pace to a Sheffield Wednesday side often lacking in attacking ideas this season, while Lazaar, a left-back, provides cover for the absent Matt Penney.

Speaking via the official Wednesday Youtube channel, the latter credited the former Owls forward, Benito Carbone, as being the catalyst in his move to Hillsborough.

Lazaar was managed by Carbone at first club Varese.

Aarons also had a spell in Italian football with Hellas Verona, and spent the first half of this campaign loaned to the Czech side, Slovan Liberec.
