The Dutch international is set to sign a new deal at St. James’ Park before joining the Ajax on loan.

Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul looks set to leave the Championship club this month with Dutch side Ajax ready to make a loan move, according to the Chronicle.
Krul spent the majority of last season out with a cruciate ligament injury as the Magpies were relegated from the Premier League and is still awaiting a return to full fitness.
The 28-year-old’s potential move follows a chain reaction of goalkeeper transfers with Manchester City’s Joe Hart due to be replaced by Barcelona’s Claudio Bravo who in turn will be succeeded by Ajax’s

And now Krul, who has one year left on his current deal at St. James’, is set to be the short term replacement for the Ajax stopper – but not before he signs a new contract at Newcastle.
The Magpies have an abundance of experienced keepers in their ranks with Krul, Rob Elliot, Karl Darlow and new signing Matz Sels all capable of being regular first-team starters.

So a temporary switch is understandable considering Krul’s reported £60,000 a week contract makes him one of the club’s highest earners.
But with Sels’ shaky start in between the sticks for United in the Championship so far – Krul’s proposed contract extension, loan hybrid has left some fans scratching their head.
