Hatem Ben Arfa’s latest Instagram post is causing a stir among Newcastle United fans.
In it, Ben Arfa – who spent five years on Tyneside – confirmed his departure from current employers Paris Saint-Germain, effective this summer.
The French winger will be out of contract then, allowing him to move freely to any club that wishes to sign him.
Leicester City – whose manager Claude Puel revived Ben Arfa’s career at Nice, catalysing a move to PSG – have already been linked with a move for the 31-year-old.
If Newcastle fans had their way however, Ben Arfa would be bound for St James’ Park instead.

Ben Arfa has found himself frozen out by PSG boss Unai Emery this season, and has failed to appear in a competitive fixture since April 2017.
The 15-cap star is no stranger to such situations, however, as Newcastle fans will surely recall from his time at their club.
