Newcastle United fans have poked fun at Alaves, after they announced the signing of Joselu yesterday.

The Spanish side completed a deal with Newcastle for the target-man, and seemed excited to make the announcement.

But Newcastle fans were quick to warn Alaves that Joselu might not be as good as their fans were hoping.

Joselu become a figure of ridicule at Newcastle, as he struggled to find the back of the net during his time at St. James’ Park.

The powerful forward may have worked hard, but his record of six goals in 49 appearances was poor.

Despite Joselu’s struggles, losing him can still be considered a risk for Newcastle at this moment in time.

The Magpies now have just two recognised senior strikers available to them in the form of Dwight Gayle and Yoshinori Muto and they will surely be on the look out for a new number nine now.
