Newcastle United fans on Twitter won’t be surprised if Rafa Benitez were to leave his role at the club and move to China amid interest in his services.

The Times first claimed that Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang have offered Benitez £12 million-a-year to be their new manager, with the club run by the fourth richest man in China.

Benitez’s future at St James’ Park is yet to be resolved and in 10 days time his contract in the North East will expire and he will be a free agent.

Following on from that news, Sky Sports then reported that Benitez is ‘considering’ the offer from the Chinese team, with the country known to attract big names by providing them with big pay packets.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if the Newcastle fans are in a foul mood because once again nothing has changed at the club and they are heading nowhere once again.

It would be a surprise if Benitez did decide to move to China because he still has the capability of managing in England’s top-flight, whether it’s with Newcastle or any other team.

If Benitez does put pen-to-paper on a new deal then it would be music to the ears of the Newcastle faithful, who will be eager for new faces to walk through the door this summer and for their manager to stay.
