Newcastle United are, at this moment in time, heading into the new season without a manager and without a first-team striker.

Newcastle United fans have hit out at Dennis Wise after he shockingly claimed that owner Mike Ashley ‘cares’ about the club.
Former Chelsea man Wise isn’t a popular figure on Tyneside and he was at it again on Wednesday when he was defending the controversial Newcastle owner.
Speaking to Sky Sports, as quoted by the Chronicle, the Sky pundit claimed that Ashley is running the club in a ‘structured’ way and the retail businessman will only sell to someone who will ‘move the club forward’.
As things stand, Newcastle are set to lose their current manager, Rafa Benitez, whose current deal expires at the end of this month.
Added with that, striker Salomon Rondon, who excelled at St James’ Park last season, has returned to his parent club West Brom as there seems to be no strategy in the transfer market.

For many years now, Ashley has seemingly stated that he is looking to sell the club, but rumour after rumour has only been squashed and the Newcastle faithful have been left disappointed every time.
Once again, the same scenario is occurring, and even worse now considering the club is about to lose Benitez, and the fans are beginning to get more and more frustrated.
It is fair to say that following Wise’s comments about Newcastle and his defence of Ashley, the St James’ Park faithful didn’t take too well to what he had to say.
