Newcastle United academy product Andy Carroll will leave West Ham United at the end of next month.

Newcastle United fans on Twitter have admitted that they wouldn’t mind re-signing Andy Carroll this summer following his release from West Ham United.
Hammers co-owner David Gold confirmed on his personal Twitter account that Carroll will be one of the players that will depart the London Stadium when his contract expires at the end of next month.
Striker Carroll came through the youth system at St James’ Park and many would agree that the potential he had back then has not been fulfilled.
During his career, he has had to contend with injuries throughout, which has resulted in his career stagnating time and time again.
Now, the 30-year-old is set to leave West Ham and the supporters of his former club wouldn’t mind him playing for the club on a pay-as-you-play deal or even as a back-up to the main striker.
Added with that, Newcastle are seemingly in the midst of a takeover, with Dubai-based billionaire Sheikh Khaled claiming that his agreed terms to buy the club have been sent to the Premier League, as reported by Sky Sports.
All that takeover talk has gripped those up in the North East, but some of them will still be happy to see Carroll return even if the takeover happens.
Here is a selection of Newcastle fans on Twitter reacting to Carroll’s release from West Ham:
West Bromwich Albion striker Salomon Rondon led the line at St James’ Park this season, but he has since returned back to his parent club.
It remains to be seen if the Magpies will go back in for the player because during his loan spell at the club, he became a very popular figure among fans.
