The Chelsea striker has once again been linked with a return to St James’ Park. How have Newcastle fans received the rumours?
According to the Chronicle, Newcastle United have been offered the chance to loan Loic Remy from Chelsea.
The 29-year-old has already played on Tyneside before – also while on loan – and could provide the perfect solution to Newcastle’s struggles in front of goal.
Regardless of his past fitness worries, Remy has always been a clinical option in front of goal. And he would surely be tempted by the prospect of game time…

As Opta stats show, Remy is in good company when it comes to goals per minute in the Premier League this season. And, with regular game time, his stats could even improve in that regard.
The average would no doubt be dragged down a little but the goals scored column would no doubt increase.
A bit like with Charlie Austin, the benefits of bringing Remy to Newcastle don’t need to be described. They are obvious, he could truly help the Magpies – but it’s simply about whether the club look past the negatives.
