Newcastle United fans are hoping that QSI decide to buy them, rather than a Championship club.

The Telegraph have reported how PSG’s mega-rich owners are looking to invest in an English football team, and Newcastle are up for sale.

At the moment QSI are said to be aiming to purchase a club in the Championship.

But Newcastle supporters are hoping that the potential buyers will widen their search and make a bid to take the club off Mike Ashley.

Newcastle has been up for sale for a considerable amount of time, but they have still not found a buyer.

Ashley has taken on board heavy criticism from the St. James’ Park crowd over failing to invest the money that they have wanted in the team.

Rafael Benitez has complained over not having a big enough budget to make the transfers he wants, but with QSI at the helm more funds would surely be available.

If Newcastle is to be sold, Ashley is said to be demanding a £300 million fee (The Guardian).
