Newcastle United fans think that Rafael Benitez will end up leaving, after his latest comments.
The Magpies have made slow progress in the transfer market this summer, and Benitez said: “Unfortunately it’s what we have to do. We have to wheel and deal, that is the way for us. And then we try to continue doing the right things.
The comments have left Newcastle fans fearing the worse, with many suggesting that it’s only a matter of time before Benitez goes.
Newcastle have made three signings so far this summer, with Kenedy arriving on loan, Martin Dubravka joining permanently and Ki Sung-Yeung being brought in on a free transfer.
Newcastle are yet to really make a eye-catching transfer though, with fans at St. James’ Park becoming frustrated.
Benitez has previously expressed frustrations at Newcastle’s transfer dealings, so his latest comment do little to ease fears that he could leave.
If Benitez did leave Newcastle due to a lack of transfer funds, then Mike Ashley would almost certainly receive fierce criticism from supporters.
