Newcastle United striker Adam Armstrong was in action for the England Under-21 side this past Friday.

The 21-year-old striker, who spent the past season on loan at Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn Rovers, featured for the England Under-21 team against their Qatar counterparts at the Toulon Tournament this past Friday.

The youngster started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, and was on target for the Young Lions.

The performance of the 21-year-old was quite encouraging, and it raised quite a lively discussion among Newcastle fans on social networking site Twitter.

While some Newcastle fans want Armstrong to be part of Rafael Benitez’s first team next season, others want him gone from St. James’ Park in the summer transfer window.

The striker scored one goal in 14 starts in the Championship for Bolton in the first half of this past season, according to WhoScored.

During the second half of the 2017-18 campaign, Armstrong scored nine goals and provided two assists in 21 League One appearances for Blackburn, according to Transfermarkt.com.
