Newcastle United are only allowed two loan signings from Premier League clubs.

According to the Shields Gazette, Newcastle United are chasing a double-deal to bring in Islam Slimani and Aaron Lennon on loan, and that could suggest that they have given up on Kenedy.

If Newcastle are successful in bringing in both Slimani and Lennon, they won’t be able to sign Kenedy, due to Premier League rules.

Newcastle are only allowed to bring in two loanees from fellow top flight clubs, which would rule out a swoop for Kenedy.

Newcastle had lined up a deal for Kenedy early on in the transfer window, but Chelsea were reluctant to go ahead with it.

Antonio Conte felt that Kenedy could have a role to play, and the latest transfer links may suggest that the Magpies have given up on signing the Brazilian.

Kenedy actually impressed in Chelsea’s last FA Cup match against Norwich City, when he set-up the Blues’ goal.

And the left-back now could be set to stay at Chelsea, with Newcastle seemingly looking at other targets.
