Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has been blown away by Joelinton – and will give him the chance to start against Arsenal this weekend.

That’s according to The Chronicle, who claim that Howe has been ‘taken aback’ after seeing Joelinton in training at Newcastle.

Howe has been dazzled by Joelinton’s physicality and fitness stats in training, making him an early favourite of the new Newcastle boss.

Howe will therefore start Joelinton against Arsenal when the Magpies travel to North London on Saturday.

Joelinton could be a big winner under Howe at Newcastle

We have already heard that Howe loves Joelinton because of his pressing ability.

Joelinton played under Julian Nagelsmann at Hoffenheim and seems perfect to lead the Magpies’ press under Howe.

The Brazilian has made a strong start already having scored against Brentford in last weekend’s 3-3 draw.

We haven’t quite seen the best of Joelinton in a Newcastle shirt.

Joelinton’s 2019 move from Hoffenheim came with a staggering price tag, and living up to that was always going to be difficult.

The goals haven’t flowed and Joelinton just hasn’t looked like a Premier League striker.

In Howe’s first Newcastle side, he went with a 4-4-2 system and played Joelinton in from the right flank.

That could now be the Brazilian’s role moving forward, meaning he may have to track Kieran Tierney and Emile Smith Rowe this weekend.

Seeing Joelinton become a Newcastle star would be great to see after a difficult time so far, and the could seriously happen under Howe.
