Newcastle United scouted Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic during the international break as they look to make a blockbuster move.
That’s according to The Sun, who claim that Newcastle scouts travelled to Portugal to watch Vlahovic play for Serbia.
Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City are keen on Vlahovic too, but it’s suggested that they don’t desperately need him in January.
That may be open a window for Newcastle to move in for Vlahovic, who played a key role in Serbia’s 2-1 win in Lisbon.
It’s even claimed that the rumoured £70million price tag isn’t the case, and Newcastle could get him cheaper than that.
Vlahovic, 21, has indicated that he won’t sign a new contract with Fiorentina.
The striker will therefore be out of contract in 2023, meaning he is approaching the final 18 months of his contract.

Newcastle could swoop in and secure Vlahovic in a huge deal given his current record and immense potential.
Vlahovic has smashed 10 goals in 13 games this season, as well as hitting 21 goals in 37 outings last term.
Stevan Jovetic has compared Vlahovic to Erling Haaland, whilst Vlahovic himself has compared himself to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
That goes to show the kind of potential Vlahovic holds, and Newcastle could land a massive coup.
