Newcastle United are ready to offer Diego Carlos more than £100,000 per week in salary to sign him from Sevilla in the January transfer window, according to 90min.

90min are reporting this morning that Newcastle remain keen on Carlos despite having earlier bids turned down by Sevilla.

The Premier League club plan to re-open talks with Sevilla after the Seville derby against Real Betis this weekend.

The report has claimed that Newcastle are ready to offer Carlos more than £100,000 per week in salary, and the Brazilian defender himself is open to moving to St. James’ Park.

Newcastle could reportedly have to pay over £40 million for Carlos.

Could Diego Carlos join Newcastle?

In our view, there is a chance that Carlos could join Newcastle from Sevilla in the January transfer window.

A weekly salary of over £100,000 is a lot of money, and £40 million is a big transfer fee.

Sevilla could be tempted by it.

Now, of course, the Andalucian club are aiming to win the La Liga title this season.

But, Sevilla could still be tempted to cash in on the 28-year-old Brazilian central defender, especially if he himself wants to move to Newcastle.

Newcastle are in the Premier League bottom three at the moment and need defensive reinforcements to escape the dreaded drop to the Championship at the end of the season.
