Chancel Mbemba was recalled to Newcastle United’s starting line-up against Chelsea.

Mbemba was partly at fault for the second goal which Newcastle conceded in their 3-1 defeat at St. James’ Park.
The centre-back was eased out of the way far too easily by Alvaro Morata, as he converted Victor Moses’ cross from close range.
And Wright claims that Mbemba needed to do far better, if Newcastle were to pull off an upset against Chelsea.

He said: “Mbemba as a centre-half, I don’t know what he’s expecting. That is pitiful.”
Newcastle actually went ahead against Chelsea, when Dwight Gayle poked home early on.
However, the Magpies rarely threatened to complete an upset, after Eden Hazard levels things up.
Morata gave Chelsea a lead in the first-half, before Hazard completed the scoring with a chipped penalty.

Newcastle are now without a win in their last six Premier League matches, with their poor form becoming concerning.
Newcastle are currently sat in 14th place in the Premier League standings, but are starting to look nervously over their shoulders and towards the drop zone.
