According to a report on Turkish Football, Newcastle United have already made a move to sign Oguzhan Ozyakup from Besiktas.

Newcastle have made contact with Ozyakup, whose contract expires at the end of the season, and it could be a brilliant signing for Rafael Benitez’s side.

On a free transfer, Ozyakup represents one of the best value for money deals on the market.

The Turkish international may not have enjoyed the finest season of his career this time around, after contributing just six assists, but he is an excellent talent.

Ozyakup is comfortable on the ball, with his dribbling skill one of his key assets, and he is also tireless.

Indeed, the Turkish international was once compared to Zinedine Zidane by Turkish pundit Ridvan Dilmen in Sabah.

Benitez demands his attacking players work hard, which means that Ozyakup could fit in perfectly at Newcastle.

The 25-year-old could play as an advanced midfielder, or in a slightly deeper central role.

And if Newcastle could get a deal for Ozyakup over the line, it would be an exciting transfer for Rafael Benitez’s side.
