Newcastle United have been linked with a move for the Middlesbrough forward in recent times.

Boro initially appeared to be keen to hold of Traore, but they are now willing to sacrifice him to fund a double deal.
Boro want Albert Adomah and Matt Phillips signed this summer, with Traore now up for sale – and that could play right into Newcastle’s hands.

Initially, it seemed that Newcastle could struggle to afford the £30 million rated-winger, with the Daily Mirror (06/05, page 70) reporting of their interest.
Newcastle would surely have struggled to pay such a vast amount for the rapid forward.

However, all of a sudden, Boro may have to reduce their asking price for Traore, if they want to get deals of Adomah and Phillips over the line quickly.
Newcastle may now have an opportunity to land Traore at a cheaper price, and that could play right into Rafael Benitez’s side’s hands.
