According to the Telegraph, Newcastle United are closing in on a deal to sign Kenedy on loan with a view to a permanent deal, and the Star have claimed the Magpies are interested in Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City.

The double-swoop seems to indicate that Newcastle are ready to step up their chase for Rafael Benitez’s top targets.

And if Newcastle are able to bring in both Kenedy and Zinchenko, it could prove to be very profitable.

The Magpies are keen to agree a set price for Kenedy, which they will pay at the end of the season, while Zinchenko appears to be valued at around £16 million by City.

The swoop would not only just improve the quality of Newcastle’s first-team squad, but it could also help them in future years.

Kenedy and Zinchenko both look to have masses of potential, but they have been starved of first-team football at Chelsea and City, respectively.

Newcastle would be able to play them regularly, and the move to St. James’ Park could be great for their development.

If the pair manage to fulfil their potential, then Newcastle could have two of the finest attacking midfielders in the Premier League in their squad, and the Magpies could make millions from them both in future years.
