Newcastle United are said to be interested in signing Luke Shaw from Manchester United.

Newcastle began the season in excellent form, and looked comfortable at Premier League level, but they have come unstuck in recent times.
Newcastle have lost their last four matches, and the flaws in their squad have been exposed.

A major problem for Rafael Benitez’s side has been their lack of a viable left-back.
With Paul Dummett out injured, Javier Manquillo has started for Newcastle, but the Spaniard has failed to impress.
Shaw could, therefore, be a major upgrade on Manquillo, if he does move to St. James’ Park.

Shaw may not have played much first-team football recently, but he is a more than capable Premier League player, and still remains an excellent prospect.
Shaw is still only 22-years-old, which means time is still on his side, and Benitez would still have a chance to develop him.
And if Benitez could get Shaw back to his best form then he could turn out to be the perfect signing for Newcastle in the January transfer window.
