Newcastle United are said to value Aleksandar Mitrovic at £16 million.

According to the Daily Star, Newcastle United will sell Aleksandar Mitrovic for £16 million this summer, and at that price he could be a huge bargain.

Mitrovic may not have much of a future at St. James’ Park, but there could be an argument to suggest that Rafael Benitez is undervaluing the striker.

Mitrovic is still only 23, and has plenty of years ahead of him to develop into a fearsome striker.

And, when compared to many of his peers, Newcastle appear to be setting a low asking price for the Serbian international.

Other stars in the Championship this season have been given huge price-tags, with the market very much over-inflated.

James Maddison, Jack Grealish, Adama Traore and Ryan Sessegnon are just some of the Championship players to reportedly have values of over £30 million placed on their heads after impressive campaigns in the second tier.

At half the price, Mitrovic now looks like a major bargain – and he would surely appeal.

Mitrovic has netted 12 goals in 17 appearances for Fulham in the Championship, and his goalscoring record at international level is also impressive.

Mitrovic has 13 goals in 35 games for his country, and was one of the top scorers over qualifying for the World Cup.

The target-man has also proved he can score in the Premier League, after hitting the back of the net nine times as a 20-year-old.

And although Benitez may have his doubts over using Mitrovic, he could be letting the forward go far too cheaply this summer.
