Newcastle United have already forgotten Dan Ashworth and are moving full speed ahead to plan under new sporting director Paul Mitchell.
The Tyneside club have not been shaken in the slightest after Manchester United poached Dan Ashworth – instead, they moved quickly to hire the highly-rated Paul Mitchell in his place.
Mitchell made his name as Southampton‘s head of recruitment before joining Tottenham in 2014 where he played a role in their superb recruitment alongside Mauricio Pochettino.
Newcastle United are expected to be busy this summer as they tap into their owner’s wealth and continue their long-term project.
That has not only included new arrivals in the playing squad, but also new arrivals to their club hierarchy.

Newcastle United announce new performance director
Newcastle announced on Friday morning that they have hired James Bunce as a performance director.
He joins a new-look board at St James’ Park, which is also set to lose co-owners Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi.
Newcastle CEO Darren Eales was full of praise for the club’s latest appointment and pointed towards his close working relationship with Mitchell.
“James is an accomplished and innovative performance director and we are delighted he has chosen to join us,” he said via the club’s official website.
“He has dedicated his career to helping players to be at their optimum levels, bringing a range of departments and services together to provide the best possible foundations for elite performance.
“James will be of great support to the talented players and staff we already have in place, and his strong working relationship with Paul Mitchell will be an asset to us as we continue to strive to be best in class.”
