Callum Wilson is set to return for Newcastle United as they prepare to take on Fulham in the Premier League this weekend.
The international break will soon come to and not a moment too soon for many Premier League fans.
England aren’t giving fans much to shout about and there is little interest in games elsewhere at the moment.
The Premier League makes its return this weekend though and Newcastle will hope to get back to winning ways after a frustrating draw with Bournemouth.
Callum Wilson is set to return for Newcastle United
The Magpies take on Fulham this weekend as they make the long trip down to West London.
Eddie Howe will be looking for a response after that draw with Bournemouth but injury news hasn’t been too positive.
Allan Saint-Maximin is struggling for fitness whilst Alexander Isak, Chris Wood and Bruno Guimaraes are all nursing injuries.
Newcastle fans need a boost and they may well get one with striker Callum Wilson on his way back to fitness.
The Athletic report that Wilson is now in line to return for Newcastle against Fulham this weekend.
Wilson suffered a hamstring injury against Manchester City in August and hasn’t appeared for Newcastle since.
It now seems that Wilson will be ready to go against Fulham – but Howe may be forced into a quicker decision than hoped.
If Isak and Wood are both out injured against Fulham this weekend, it would likely mean Wilson will have to start up top.
Howe would surely rather ease Wilson back in, maybe start him on the bench and bring him on for valuable minutes to work him back into Premier League action.
Instead, the £20million striker may be pressed into starting action this weekend – always a risk when coming off a muscle injury problem.
Let’s hope that Isak or Wood can make the game too, at least easing the burden on Wilson should he make his return this weekend.
