Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey has rejected a move to Burnley amid claims that he has been offered to Newcastle United.
That’s according to Sky Italia’s transfer insider Gianluca Di Marzio, who made the claims speaking on Sky Sports News (04/01, 20:10).
Di Marzio stated that Burnley made an ‘official proposal’ to sign Ramsey during this month’s transfer window.
However, Ramsey said no and is looking for a ‘more ambitious team’ as he seeks a return to the Premier League.
Burnley are fighting against relegation this season and seemingly can’t quite attract a player of Ramsey’s calibre.
Ramsey could still come back to English football though, and this Burnley snub may simply play into Newcastle’s hands.

90Min claim that Juventus have offered Ramsey to Newcastle on loan and the Magpies are interested in signing him.
Hailed as ‘world class’ by Ben Davies, it’s clear that Ramsey must leave Juventus this month for the sake of his career.
Newcastle are also mired in a relegation battle but do have plans to move forward quickly thanks to investment from PIF.
That means Newcastle are a better long-term bet for Ramsey than Burnley are, and the Magpies will be glad to know that he isn’t Turf Moor-bound.
