Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez answered a question regarding Amanda Staveley’s takeover today.

Quoted by The Chronicle during a press conference, Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez has intimated that “people will be happy” after Wednesday’s visit of Everton after being asked a question about Amanda Staveley’s takeover bid on Tyneside.
Magpies owner Mike Ashley is said to be mulling a £250 million offer from Staveley after both parties were photgraphed leaving the same building last week.
Speculation about her takeover bid has been rumbling on for months without a conclusion and Newcastle fans are desperate to have her installed as the new owner before the January transfer window.

Ashley was criticised by Magpies supporters for failing to financially back Benitez in the summer window and the clock is ticking if the Sports Direct owner wants to avoid that responsibility again next month.
The Spanish manager does not usually address questions relating to the business side of Newcastle but he did tell The Chronicle on Tuesday afternoon: “Hopefully after the Everton game we will have a win and some news and people will be happy.”

This has prompted United fans to assert that the former Liverpool boss knows something that everybody else doesn’t at the moment.
