Benitez has suggested that Newcastle were unable to compete with Huddersfield for players in the transfer window.
The Spanish boss was speaking yesterday, with Newcastle struggling for form.
But Huddersfield fans feel that Benitez is searching for excuses, as he had plenty of money to spend in the summer.
Huddersfield do have the lowest wage budget in the Premier League, but they were significantly more active than Newcastle in the summer.
The Magpies boss was frustrated with the lack of money he had to spend on upgrading his team.

Newcastle did make some additions in the previous transfer window, but Benitez missed out on many of his first choice targets.
Newcastle are currently in 14th place in the Premier League table, while Huddersfield are in 11th.
Benitez’s side are in action again later this evening, when they take on West Bromwich Albion.
