Newcastle United midfielder Mohamed Diame could well miss out on playing against Manchester City.

Newcastle are set to take on Manchester City on Tuesday, in what looks like a huge test for Rafael Benitez’s side.
And Newcastle’s challenge could be made even more difficult by Diame’s absence.
The central midfielder has been ruled out for weeks with injury, and although there were hopes that he would return to fitness soon, it seems as if he could remained sidelined for the time being.
“We have to be lucky if we have Diame,” Benitez admitted.

If Diame isn’t fit Newcastle may be forced to line up with Isaac Hayden and Sean Longstaff in central midfield again.
The Magpies team should at least be relatively fresh for the contest, as Benitez rung the changes in the FA Cup.
Benitez named a number of fringe players in Newcastle’s starting line-up at the weekend, and it proved costly, as his side lost to Watford.
Newcastle could sink into the relegation zone in midweek if they lose to Manchester City and other results go against them.
