Newcastle United drew 1-1 with Aston Villa in their last outing.

Rafael Benitez has told the Chronicle that Newcastle United defenders DeAndre Yedlin and Paul Dummett did really well against Aston Villa.
Newcastle could only draw 1-1 with Villa in their last outing, but Yedlin and Dummett impressed.
The two full-backs both showed good quality going forward, while remaining solid in defence.

“We knew in the first half that Paul [Dummett] and him [Yedlin] could be important players for us and they did really well,” Benitez said.
“After the substitution of DeAndre maybe we had to adjust things and sometimes you cannot control everything.
“In this case maybe it was handy for us that DeAndre played.”

Yedlin helped set-up Newcastle’s goal in the contest, by putting in the cross which Tommy Elphick deflected into his own goal.
Yedlin did get injured midway through the second period, though, and Benitez is waiting for news on the former Tottenham Hotspur man’s absence.
“We will have to see, he twisted his ankle,” the Spanish boss added. “We will see. We have to wait.”
Yedlin could be set to miss Newcastle’s match against Norwich City in midweek, which would be a major blow.
The Canaries are currently top of the Championship table, after making an impressive start to the new season.
