Sean Longstaff suffered a knee injury while playing for Newcastle United against West Ham United last weekend.

Longstaff suffered a knee injury during Newcastle’s 2-0 defeat to West Ham United in the Premier League last weekend.
According to BBC Sport, the 21-year-old midfielder is likely to miss the rest of the season.
It is quite a blow for the youngster who has been playing well for the Magpies in recent weeks, but Newcastle manager Benitez does not think that there will any long-term problems for the midfielder due to his knee injury.
Benitez told The Daily Mail: “It is a serious injury but not so serious. It won’t be an issue for his future. Talking with him, he is fine. Mentally he is strong enough.
“It happens in football and he said, ‘Now I have to start working’. His reaction has been positive. We knew right away it was quite serious but the good news is it’s not as bad as it could be.
“For example, it is not as bad as Florian Lejeune’s and he was back playing within four months. With modern treatment techniques, he will be fine.”

Encouraging
It can be quite tough for young players if they suffer a serious knee, and there have been instances when such injuries have affected the footballers in the long run.
It is very encouraging that Longstaff’s knee problem is not going affect him in the long run.
Hopefully for Newcastle and Longstaff, the 21-year-old midfielder will recover nicely from his knee injury and will be back to his best next season.
