Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez has ruled himself out of taking over from Sam Allardyce as the manager of the England national football team, as reported by Chronicle Live.
Allardyce, himself a former Newcastle manager, left his role as England boss after just 67 days yesterday following allegations made by the Telegraph regarding how to get around third party ownership, among other reasons.

Now a long slew of names is being linked with the job. Steve Bruce, Alan Pardew, Eddie Howe, Glenn Hoddle and Jurgen Klinsmann are just some of the names being mentioned, as is the new caretaker manager and under-21 boss Gareth Southgate.
Benitez however will not be taking the job.
He told the Chronicle Live yesterday that there is absolutely no chance of him becoming the new England manager:
“I just came here. No chance.
“I am really focused on Newcastle.”

The Spaniard, who has won European titles with both Liverpool and Chelsea, would be a popular choice among many fans – but the FA are believed to want an English manager to take over.
Newcastle United are currently ninth in the Championship and take on high-flying Norwich City this evening knowing a win will take them back up to third in the table.
