Newcastle United are targeting Benjamin Sesko and a decision on his future could now come in a matter days amid Manchester United talks.

Red Bull Salzburg have a pretty incredible record of developing attacking talent.

Hwang Hee-chan, Takumi Minamino, Erling Haaland, Patson Daka, Karim Adeyemi and Mergim Berisha are just some of the goalscorers around Europe who have excelled with Salzburg.

Sesko now appears to be the latest addition to that seemingly never-ending conveyor belt of talent.

The Slovenian has already hit 12 goals and eight assists in 39 first-team games for Salzburg – and there is now major interest in his signature.

Newcastle United are targeting Benjamin Sesko

Newcastle are keen on Sesko but a deal for him to join the Magpies looks tricky.

Sesko’s agent Elvir Basanovic set tongues wagging in July by posting a photo from Newcastle.

It then emerged that Newcastle were indeed interested in Sesko, but that the teenager wasn’t all that convinced by the move.

Fabrizio Romano now reports that Sesko will make a decision on his future with his family in the coming days.

Manchester United have held talks with Basanovic and so has Chelsea owner Todd Boehly as they fight for Sesko.

Sesko, 19, is one of the top wonderkid strikers in Europe and that is now being shown with the huge interest in his signature.

Chelsea can offer Champions League football whilst Manchester United may give Sesko the chance to become the heir to Cristiano Ronaldo.

Either of those avenues could be appealing to Sesko, but staying with Salzburg and scoring regularly should be attractive too having seen Haaland and Adeyemi do just that.

Newcastle’s hopes of signing Sesko appear to be slim at this stage, but with mystery clubs battling United for his signature, the Magpies may just have a major surprise up their sleeve.
