Newcastle United are backing away from Armando Broja after the Chelsea talent wanted to be a first-choice striker
The Magpies have been chasing striking additions this summer but continue to hit bricks walls in that pursuit.
Alexander Isak and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have been too expensive whilst Hugo Ekitike ended up joining Paris Saint-Germain instead.
Newcastle have turned to other targets but a recent link now appears to be cooling off.
Newcastle United are backing away from Armando Broja
iNews reported just a matter of days ago that Newcastle were firming up their interest in signing Chelsea striker Broja.
Everton were also thought to be moving in for Broja after West Ham chose to sign Gianluca Scamacca instead.
Yet The Telegraph now claim that Newcastle are cooling their interest in Broja and seemingly looking elsewhere for a new striker.
It’s stated that Newcastle were informed that Broja would only leave Chelsea if he was guaranteed to be first-choice striker.
Newcastle also have Chris Wood and Callum Wilson, with the plan seemingly for Broja to come in as competition.

That didn’t suit Broja’s demands and Newcastle have seemingly decided to back away from the Albanian.
Broja, 21, spent last season on loan at Southampton and scored six goals in 32 outings.
That may not sound all that impressive but Broja showed huge potential during his time with the Saints.
Chelsea may still see a future for Broja at Stamford Bridge, but it’s clear that he wants to be playing regularly net season.
Newcastle couldn’t promise that and will now seemingly miss out on a striker branded ‘really exciting’ by Gary Neville.
West Ham have landed Scamacca, Newcastle are backing away… could Everton now be the leaders in the race for Broja’s signature? It’s starting to look that way.
