Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko is the fastest player in the Premier League so far this season.
Official date released on Monday shows the French midfielder to have registered a top sprint speed of 35.3 km/h, faster than any other player in 2014/15.
At the weekend Manchester United loanee Wilfried Zaha came close to equalling it, just 0.1 km/h away.
| Team | Top Speed km/h | |
|---|---|---|
| Moussa Sissoko | Newcastle United | 35.3 |
| Wilfried Zaha | Crystal Palace | 35.2 |
| Marcin Walisewski | Leicester City | 35.1 |
| Stewart Downing | West Ham United | 35.1 |
| Raheem Sterling | Liverpool | 35.0 |
Sissoko is known for his impressive tackling and creativity, but not a name who springs immediately to mind when discussing the fastest players in England.
He is a key part of the Newcastle side which has enjoyed a real resurgence over the last couple of months, but he will need to show stamina as well as speed to keep up the team’s impressive form between now and the end of the season.
