Newcastle United are competing with Liverpool and Chelsea for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, according to 90min.
90min are reporting that Liverpool, Newcastle, Chelsea and Manchester United all want to sign Kessie.
The four Premier League clubs have made contact with the midfielder’s representatives in recent months.
Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in Kessie.
The report has claimed that Newcastle ‘could make a sizeable offer’, but their offer ‘would be dependent on them securing their Premier League status.’.
Could Franck Kessie join Newcastle United?
In our opinion, Newcastle would find it extremely tough to bring Kessie to St. James’ Park in the summer of 2022.
The 25-year-old is out of contract at Milan at the end of the season.
Now, Milan are not going to sell as important a player as Kessie in the middle of the season.
In the summer of 2022 when the Ivory Coast international midfielder will become a free agent, there will be massive competition for him.
Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United are among the elite clubs in Europe.
So, we do not think that Newcastle will find it easy to convince Kessie to movie to St. James’ Park.
Now, of course, PIF could offer the 25-year-old a lot of money, but so could Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United.
What we can say is that Kessie would be a brilliant signing for Newcastle.
The midfielder is one of the best players in his position in Serie A and is rated very highly by his Milan teammates.
One of them, Davide Calabria, has even said that the Ivorian is stronger than Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
Football Italia quoted Calabria as saying in June 2020: “The most physically dominant? I wouldn’t say (Cristiano) Ronaldo, but rather Franck. It’s truly absurd.”
