Newcastle United’s Miguel Almiron, Kieran Trippier and Bruno Guimares have been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award for October, alongside the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Erling Haaland, Leandro Trossard, Granit Xhaka and Kepa Arrizabalaga, as per the official website.

As the Magpies won five and drew one out of their total six league matches last month, the aforementioned trident stood out in particular.

Perhaps the favourite to win the award is Miguel Almiron, who exemplified that he is in the form of his life with his tremendous showings in October.

The Paraguayan winger raced to a staggering six goals in six games, as he quite simply emerged as Newcastle’s best player during this period.

So much so that many have put forth Almiron as one of the outright standout performers in the English top-flight this term.

Kieran Trippier, who has thrived at St. James’ Park since his return to English football has also especially been in brilliant touch off late.

The club captain has once again showcased why he is one of the most well-rounded right-backs in the country, providing plenty of verve going forward whilst being a commanding defensive presence.

With two assists last month against Brentford and Aston Villa as well, Trippier is another worthy candidate to win the award.

As for Bruno Guimares, there is a case to be made for him having been the most in-form defensive midfielder in the Premier League this season.

Miraculously, the Brazilian international has managed to also chip in with goals and assists, whilst operating in a withdrawn role, in comparison to the previous campaign.

Registering two goals and two assists against the likes of Fulham, Brentford and Everton in October, the former Lyon lynchpin was once again a class apart.

It is testament to Newcastle United’s magnificence this season that if either of their nominees win the award, little to no eyebrows will be raised.
