Scottish side Hearts have reportedly reached a full agreement to sign Newcastle United winger Garang Kuol on loan, with the Australian international only arriving in England in the last few weeks.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Twitter that the 2022 FIFA World Cup wonderkid will sign for Hearts on loan for the remainder of the season after Newcastle signed Kuol last September from A-League side Central Coast Mariners, with the winger joining up with the Magpies after Australia’s time in Qatar came to an end.

Lauded by former Scottish Premiership star Jason Cummings as ‘world-class’, Kuol is regarded by many as one of the most exciting talents Australia has produced in quite some time. And the attacker will finally get to showcase his talents in Europe this season with Hearts.

Manager Robbie Neilson has already expressed his excitement about Kuol signing for Hearts. And if everything goes to plan, the 18-year-old Egyptian-born star could be one of the breakout talents in the SPL in the second half of the season.

Indeed, Kuol showed in patches out in Qatar last year that he has the talent to go toe-to-toe with some of the best players in the world. And for Hearts, the winger could be the man to fire up Neilson’s squad and to close the gap on Rangers in the Scottish league table.

Kuol is the first world-class youngster Newcastle have signed since the PIF regime took over the Magpies in late 2021, and for many, this loan move to Hearts is perfect for almost every party involved, with the winger set to be a regular for a top Scottish side and to play crucial minutes in a good division.

Moreover, Hearts’ incredible season means that Kuol is walking into a happy dressing room with a positive environment, meaning that the attacker could hit the ground running in Edinburgh as Neilson looks to secure European football come the end of the season.
