David Moyes’s West Ham United have joined Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United in the race for Dundee United striker Rory MacLeod, according to The Sun.
West Ham join Newcastle in Rory MacLeod chase
The report in the British tabloid has claimed that West Ham are keen on signing MacLeod from Scottish club United in the January transfer window.
The Scottish Premiership club are willing to cash in on the 16-year-old striker this month.
United are looking for £4 million plus extras in transfer fees.
The report has claimed that although West Ham manager David Moyes is keen on MacLeod, the Premier League club’s ‘scouts want to see the starlet play a little more before committing’.

The teenager is just starting his career at United, but he is playing in the Scottish Premiership.
Newcastle should bid now
West Ham’s reported interest in MacLeod comes after it was claimed that Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion are keen on the teenage striker.
According to The Sun earlier this month, Newcastle are leading the race to sign MacLeod from United in the January transfer window along with Premier League rivals Brighton.
With West Ham hesitating to make a move for the teenager, Newcastle have a very good chance of making a bid now and bringing the forward to St. James’ Park for just £4 million.
MacLeod made two substitute appearances in the Scottish Premiership last season, and has made three substitute appearances in the league so far this campaign.
