Sky Italy reporter Gianluca Di Marzio claims the agents of Newcastle United attacker Allan Saint-Maximin have opened initial talks with Champions League club AC Milan – with the Toon requesting a fee of £26million for the French ace.
Saint-Maximin, 25, has fallen down the pecking order. After a brilliant start to the Premier League season, in which he laid on three goals and assists in the first four games, he picked up an injury. He missed eight of the next nine outings.
Returning from injury for the last eight Premier League games, he has failed to start. He has come on as a sub in seven of those eight League matches. Even against Southampton in the Carabao Cup semi-final, he was afforded 23 minutes.
So, it comes as little surprise that Saint-Maximin may consider a move. The issue is, he has a contract until June 2026. His agents have opened talks with Milan, with the Serie A champions keen. Newcastle want a fee of more than £26m.

Di Marzio: Agents of Newcastle attacker Saint-Maximin open Milan talks
While he is not starting, Newcastle will be keen to keep Saint-Maximin until the summer. But with the club looking to bring in Everton ace Anthony Gordon, it would only see Saint-Maximin fall further down the pecking order on Tyneside.
With Newcastle pushing for Gordon and Everton’s change in manager perhaps pushing Gordon towards the exit, Saint-Maximin may have to go. A move to Milan would be a brilliant one for the French ace. Champions League football.
The chance to fight for the Serie A title, though Napoli look very good. Would he start? Arguably not, with Rafael Leao on the left. But if the attacker can show he is capable of playing on the right, why not? A great move for the Toon ace.
