Real Madrid have reportedly joined the race to sign Celta Vigo sensation Gabri Veiga, with Arsenal and Newcastle United also chasing the La Liga talent.
According to El Desmarque, Los Blancos will throw their hat into the ring to sign the 20-year-old attacking midfielder, who this season has been one of the breakout talents in Spain with Vigo and has recently attracted interest from the Premier League and beyond.
With eight goals and three assists, Veiga has been one of the best youngsters in all of Europe this season in terms of raw numbers, and Madrid are now interested in signing the Vigo youngster, an update neither Newcastle or Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal wanted to hear.
Lauded as ‘outstanding’ by Faro de Vigo, Carlo Ancelotti’s side joining the fold could spell a lot of trouble for Premier League club’s looking to sign Veiga, with Madrid having a strong pull in the Spanish market and are arguably the most appealing club in La Liga for a youngster playing in the division.

And for Newcastle, in particular, the Magpies could now miss out on the Spanish youngster, who with a release clause of €40m (£35m) could be a fantastic signing for Eddie Howe’s side, with an attacking midfielder an ideal addition this summer for the northeast giants.
Indeed, Newcastle have the finances to beat Madrid to Veiga, however, when it comes to the player deciding on which club he’d rather sign for, the Toon could stand no chance in the Spanish youth international heading to the Bernabeu this summer.
Madrid could have Veiga signing in the bag amid transfer update

Madrid joining any sort of transfer race gives the European giants an immediate advantage given just how much pull and prestige Los Blancos have in the market, and for Newcastle, they could stand no chance in winning the battle to sign Veiga despite their growing reputation in the Premier League.
Howe is leading a great project at Newcastle that will no doubt lead to some top signings in the years to come, yet in this race to win Veiga’s signature, the Toon simply stand no chance against a club like Madrid if the Spanish giants take their interest in the Vigo superstar seriously.
