Newcastle United scouts have recently been left impressed with a recent mission to watch Ferdi Kadioglu, with the Toon reportedly keen on signing the 23-year-old.

According to Takvim, the northeast side have sent talent spotters to watch the fullback as Newcastle look to finalise their summer targets ahead of the transfer window, and Kadioglu has seemingly impressed the Magpies following on from his ‘incredible’ performance against Kayserispor last weekend.

As per the report, Fenerbahce are not keen on selling Kadioglu this summer, though the Turkish giants could be persuaded with an offer of around €25m (£22m), though it is unlikely that Newcastle or any interested club will pay this fee to sign the defender.

Kadioglu has played at both left-back and right-back for Fenerbahce this season and is regarded by many in the Turkish game as one of the most exciting defensive talents in the Super Lig, with the fullback already a regular for the national team over the last two years.

Kadioglu has enjoyed a standout year for Fenerbahce this year as the defender is now beginning to attract interest from across the continent, with Newcastle seemingly a leading club to sign the defender in the summer transfer window. However, the Turkish side must lower their asking price if they’re to see any bid from the Magpies.

Indeed, Kadioglu could be ready for the step up in his career and might himself push a move this summer to Newcastle or another top club in a big European division. Yet until Fenerbahce lower their asking price for the defender, there’s a good chance that the 23-year-old will remain in Turkey for the foreseeable future.
