CBS journalist Ben Jacobs has said that Arsenal target Tammy Abraham would be open to a summer transfer to Newcastle United.
While it remains unknown whether Abraham would prefer a switch to Mikel Arteta or Eddie Howe’s side, he certainly fancies a move to the latter.
This may spell bad news for Callum Wilson if Newcastle end up signing Arsenal-linked striker Tammy Abraham, considering the former’s performances have declined since the World Cup.
But the potential arrival of the £71 million-rated Abraham is a sign that the Magpies have no plans to stop in their search of getting better and better.
Arsenal target Tammy Abraham would be open to Newcastle move
While the 25-year-old only has 6 goals in the Serie A for Roma this season, he has remained a highly-rated goalscorer since breaking through at Chelsea.
But this seemingly does not concern Newcastle when it comes to targeting Tammy Abraham, who has been linked with signing for Arsenal, as per Ben Jacobs’ revelation on the NUFCMatters YouTube channel.
“Callum Wilson doesn’t have tons of seasons ahead of him, so maybe it’s that Newcastle do go in for a more traditional No.9 and [Dusan] Vlahovic would fall into that category, and they’ve also looked at Tammy Abraham as well without really advancing anything.”

“He’s been on their radar as well and I think Abraham would be quite open to coming and playing back in the Premier League sooner rather than later.”
Alan Shearer is a huge admirer of Tammy Abraham
In case some Newcastle fans would rather see Tammy Abraham join Arsenal instead, Alan Shearer’s verdict on the player may change their minds.
“I’m a big fan of Tammy Abraham. He’s playing a difficult role given his experience. “He’s got a very good touch, technique, good at bringing people into the game. He’ll be delighted with the return in terms of number of goals.”
“He’s only going to get better”, he said, as relayed by The Daily Star.
